"The idea for such an album emanated from the desire, the right, and a sense of responsibility to re-live the sensation I felt after viewing images, of a rich cultural history that lay dormant in many minds, personal photo albums, and the Romanian national Archives. (...)
Of the many negative images projected of Romania, this is an example of achievements, and inspirational vision, which to me should not be tarnished. We have purposefully attempted to steer clear of the political associations that can easily misdirect the rightful acknowledgment and admiration of the achievements and sacrifices of those who dared."

Unwrapping the book

The book design is focused on combining the elegant aura of the Romanian Aviation history with modern and stylish graphic motifs.

The cover

The cover shows in an almost cinematic manner a black & white historical scene. Since the entire book contains archive images, we wanted to highlight the old monochromatic photographs with a third colour - a bright and elegant orange - for the symbol (the airplane propeller) and the titles.

The interior

The interior layout is a mix between large images that show not only the narrative of the Cantacuzino Aviation School, but also a texturized historical ambience.
